Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding team at West Berkshire Council. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other professionals to provide high-quality support to families and children in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the Family Safeguarding Model to work with families and provide group-based interventions.
  • Adopt a strengths-based approach and apply motivational interviewing techniques to support families in achieving positive change.
  • Work directly with children to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Take a holistic view of the individual, considering their immediate and extended social circles, and provide support to meet their overall development needs.
  • Access high-quality reflective supervision to strengthen information sharing and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Hold a recognized Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Hold a current driving license and have access to a car.
  • Have good organizational and planning skills.
  • Have experience managing levels of risk within a caseload of complex cases.
  • Have knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, and policies.
  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to build effective relationships with colleagues, individuals, and external organizations.
  • Have effective skills in managing conflict and disagreement.
