About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Education Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Achieving for Children. As an Education Mental Health Specialist, you will work closely with schools and cluster leads to implement a whole-school approach to mental health. This role is ideal for someone who has experience in working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions, and risk management. You will be able to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness among staff and develop strategies to support students with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide 1:1 therapeutic interventions to children and families.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on mental health awareness for school staff.
  • Collaborate with schools and cluster leads to create a whole-school approach to mental health.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care coordination.
Person Specification:

We are looking for someone with a degree in a relevant field, such as psychology or education. The successful candidate will have experience in working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. A qualification in a specific therapeutic intervention, such as CBT, would be beneficial.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
