Mental Health Practitioner Vacancy

The successful candidate will work as part of the Emotional Health Service, specifically in the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), which works jointly with schools and cluster leads to implement a whole school approach to mental health across the cluster.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver specific therapeutic interventions to children and young people or their families, including guided self-help and time-limited therapy.
- Carry out mental health assessments of children and young people and conduct 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families.
- Work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness among staff members.
- Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1-year Education Mental Health Practitioner course or Child Wellbeing Practitioner course.
- Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties, including anxiety disorders and affective (mood) disorders.
- Ability to make an assessment of risk, record it appropriately, and take action to mitigate or manage risk.

The salary for this position is around £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
