Hourly Rate: £12.50 per hour, plus bonus opportunity

Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, with possibility of additional hours when needed

Shifts: Various shifts available

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader/supervisor to join our team as a Duty Manager at our award-winning Bala, North Wales SPAR store. As a key member of the store management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store
  • Assist in delivering all store operations, objectives, and KPIs
  • Manage, coach, and support colleagues to develop a motivated and empowered team
  • Carry out performance management and absence management as needed
  • Take responsibility for occasional opening and closing of the store, colleague safety, and stock/cash security/accountability
  • Conduct cash reconciliations, voids, and refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues
  • Lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience and promote the store by identifying and actioning opportunities to engage with and support the local community
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Previous management or supervisor experience in a food retail or similar fast-paced operation
  • Commitment to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively
  • Effective communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Ability to take appropriate action and make decisions
  • Commitment to promoting collaborative working
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility with a positive attitude
  • Commitment to developing own skills and applying learning to improve own performance
