Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia invites applications for part-time Adjunct teaching faculty in the School of Accountancy at Old Dominion University. We are seeking individuals to teach introductory courses in accounting, including Principles of Financial Accounting and Principles of Managerial Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a maximum of two courses a semester in either face-to-face or asynchronous (online) environments.
  • Meet all designated course instruction deadlines.
  • Assign and grade course exams and other assigned materials.
  • Respond to students in a timely manner.
  • Submit grades according to University guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Three to five years of recent professional experience in accounting.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience is also preferred.
  • Ability to teach face-to-face during regular daytime business hours.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Data Analytics.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position with a variable schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced academic environment and interact with students, faculty, and staff.
