Job Summary

Norfolk State University is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Department of Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching theory courses within our Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science major, as well as mentoring and advising students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach basic health courses, exercise science, kinesiology, and fundamental of fitness courses
  • Maintain active involvement within the department, professional development, and college-wide committee work
  • Mentor and advise students in the Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science major
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Movement Sciences, or Health/Physical Education, with clinical experience preferred. A Doctorate is also preferred. You should possess considerable knowledge of and skill in areas of Kinesiotherapy/Rehabilitative Science, Health Education, and Physical Education, with a broad knowledge of the remaining disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in several areas, including biomechanics, exercise physiology, lifetime fitness, and health/wellness
  • Ability to develop, manage, and evaluate a long-term rehabilitative exercise program for people transitioning out of medical treatment and physical therapy programs
