Job Duties
The selected adjunct professors will teach at the undergraduate level and conduct office hours to support their courses. The Department of Sociology seeks adjunct faculty for the academic year to teach Sociology and/or Criminal Justice courses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a Master's degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a similar discipline, with 18 graduate credits in the field.
- Possess considerable knowledge of and skill in areas of specialization in a discipline, as highlighted above.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to a diverse student-body audience, both verbally and in writing, with emphasis applied to a commitment to diversity.
- Demonstrated ability to grasp and advocate an institution's teaching and learning philosophy, preferably in an institution of higher education.
- Proficiency in or commitment to attaining distance learning certification at NSU.
- Teaching experience, at a college or university, is strongly preferred.
