Job Description:

BRAINKIND Neurological Centre York seeks a highly skilled Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering expert neurorehabilitation services to individuals with brain injuries.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work independently as an experienced therapist in neurological rehabilitation, managing complex caseloads and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • To assess and address occupational performance deficits in service users, focusing on self-maintenance, productivity, education, and leisure activities.
  • To develop and implement comprehensive care programs, ensuring adequate handover to colleagues and monitoring progress through data analysis.
  • To use highly developed interpersonal skills to engage resistant or distressed service users and families, promoting a sensitive and flexible approach.
  • To collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, bringing specialist knowledge and actively contributing to overall treatment objectives.
  • To support the clinical lead in maintaining contact with family and outside agencies, coordinating rehabilitation programs, and facilitating discharge planning.
  • To assess and issue equipment referrals, ensuring adequate training for staff, service users, and family members, while maintaining risk assessments.

About You:

  • A diploma or degree in occupational therapy, registered with HCPC.
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation, working autonomously with a complex caseload.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Capacity to formulate complex risk assessments and supervise/training others.
  • A valid UK driving license.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £46,148 - £52,809 per annum DOE, along with excellent benefits, including discounts, 38 days annual leave (pro-rata), and opportunities for professional growth.
