Autonomous Occupational Therapist

Our centre provides expert neurorehabilitation services to individuals with brain injuries. We aim to empower them to regain their skills and independence, improving their overall quality of life.
Main Responsibilities- To work as a senior therapist in a specialist clinical area, providing highly developed skills and knowledge in neurological rehabilitation.
- To manage a complex caseload of service users, addressing their occupational performance and skill deficits.
- To develop programmes of care, ensuring effective handover to colleagues, monitoring progress, and modifying treatment to measure effectiveness.
- To engage resistant or distressed service users and families using empathetic communication skills.
- To conduct regular risk assessments, updating them as necessary, and communicating with the team effectively.
- To work collaboratively with service users, family/carers, and external agencies to meet individual needs and circumstances.
- To contribute to multidisciplinary teams, sharing specialist knowledge, actively listening, and participating in meetings.
- To support clinical leads in maintaining contact with family and outside agencies, coordinating rehabilitation programmes, and facilitating discharge planning.
- To assess and issue equipment, referring to external agencies as needed, ensuring adequate training and risk assessments.
- A diploma or degree in occupational therapy, registered with HCPC.
- Experience in neurological rehabilitation and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to formulate complex risk assessments and supervise others.
- A valid UK driving licence.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of £45,000 - £51,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including discounts on various brands and services, 38 days annual leave (pro-rata), and access to the Employee Assistance Programme.
