Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist in Gender Healthcare to join our team at the West of England Specialist Gender Identity Clinic (WESGIC) based at The Laurels in Exeter. This is a new substantive post following substantial investment in the clinic.

  • The WESGIC is a centre of excellence for the provision of advice and treatment for gender dysphoria for people aged 18 and older.
  • The successful candidate will work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to support patients in line with the NHS England national service specification for gender healthcare.

Key Responsibilities: Clinically supervise OTs, Named Professionals, and Peer Support Workers working in the Gender Service; lead peer supervision and continuing professional development of OT staff. Demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision, where required, to junior team members and other professionals and students.

Requirements: Significant experience working in community settings in MDTs. Training in gender healthcare. Highly developed knowledge of theory and practice of OT within gender healthcare. Experience of working in gender healthcare.

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
