Meraki Talent Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Director to join their executive team. The successful candidate will hold SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) FCA regulatory approval, and will ensure the business adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the compliance function, ensuring the firm complies with all FCA regulatory requirements, including those related to Forex trading.
  • Hold SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) functions, ensuring robust governance and accountability.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance framework, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) policies, ensuring strong internal controls and ongoing monitoring.
  • Manage regulatory relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for the FCA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory changes on the company's operations, ensuring swift and effective adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance issues, promoting a culture of compliance and best practices across the firm.
  • Report to the Board of Directors on compliance performance, regulatory risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee audits, both internal and external, and take corrective action on any identified risks or deficiencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Regulatory Approval: FCA SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) approval is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in a senior compliance role within Forex, FX trading, or broader financial services.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations, financial crime compliance, AML, and CTF requirements, especially as they apply to Forex markets.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks in the FX industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and advise senior management and the board.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of compliance professionals.
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as ICA, ACAMS, or similar would be an advantage.
  • Experience with regulatory bodies and global FX markets is desirable.
