Job Overview

The role of Children and Young People Engagement Officer involves fostering engagement with children, young people, their families, and caregivers at the Cathedral.

This position will work closely with the Creative Learning & Discovery team to deliver outreach programs across the Cathedral's life and churches in the Deanery and Diocese.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require a GNVQ level 4 qualification or equivalent, experience working with children, and excellent administrative skills.

You must also be a practising Christian and communicant member of the Church of England or another denomination in sympathy with the Anglican church.

A successful enhanced DBS check is mandatory before starting work, and you will need to commit to regular Sunday working each month, as well as occasional weekend and evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Foster engagement with children, young people, their families, and caregivers at the Cathedral.
  2. Work closely with the Creative Learning & Discovery team to deliver outreach programs.
Requirements
  • GNVQ level 4 qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Excellent administrative skills.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £18,000 per annum [£30,000 FTE] and a range of benefits including pension contribution, pro rata of 34 days' leave including bank holidays, Employee Assistance Programme, free onsite parking, and flexible working opportunities.
