About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our neonatal patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and develop care plans for neonatal patients
  • Take charge of the neonatal unit on a regular basis, acting as shift coordinator and undertaking designated management roles
  • Provide clinical, educational, and emotional support to parents and carers
  • Lead and coordinate shifts, working independently and as part of a team
  • Support junior staff and pre-registration student nurses

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse (RGN/Midwife/Child) with NMC
  • Neonatal Intensive Care qualification
  • Current NLS certification
  • Teaching and assessing qualification and/or mentorship module
  • Safeguarding Children training (Level 1-3)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
