Senior Neonatal Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Neonatal Nurse to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Senior Neonatal Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to newborns and their families, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:- Assess and develop care plans for neonates, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of the neonatal unit and providing clinical leadership to staff.
- Participate in practice development and education, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to parents and carers, empowering them to make informed decisions about their baby's care.
- Deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence, taking charge of the unit and ensuring continuity of care.
- Registered Nurse (RGN/Midwife/Child) with NMC registration.
- Neonatal Intensive Care qualification and current NLS certification.
- Teaching and assessing qualification and/or mentorship module Safeguarding Children training (Level 1-3).
- Evidence of continuing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Certificate in leadership and management training.
- Appraisal training and/or Degree in Children's/Neonatal Nursing.
