Job Overview

SAAB UK Ltd is seeking a skilled Support Manager to establish and manage a new site in the Salisbury Plain area. This role will oversee the setup of the site, recruit and train staff, and bring the site to full operational capacity by the specified deadline.

The Role

As a Support Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and preparing equipment, managing logistics, and providing technical support for deployable exercises. You will also liaise with the Technical Services Lead and Factory Support team in Huskvarna, and manage configuration control of all hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, repair, and refurbishment of equipment to meet availability KPIs.
  • Freight equipment worldwide and maintain a level of spares to support operational equipment and meet contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth site operations and resolve any technical issues.
  • Provide technical support for deployable exercises and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Manage configuration control of all hardware and software to ensure that all systems are up-to-date and functioning correctly.

Requirements

  • Experience of logistics management and line management.
  • Facilities management experience desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and formal communication.
  • Driving Licence (B+E). Ability to attain SC essential.
