An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint two 10 PA general paediatric consultants in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary

We are seeking to appoint two general paediatric consultants with an interest in respiratory and neonates to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the respiratory service and undertake general paediatric, neonates, safeguarding, outpatient and on call duties.
  • Support our level 1+ neonatal unit and undertake general paediatric, safeguarding, outpatient and on call duties.
  • Undertake flow shifts (winter months only) in ambulatory paediatrics.
  • Undertake neonatal shifts covering the ward, post-natal ward and transitional care unit.
  • Undertake resident evening shifts followed by on call.
  • Undertake resident night shifts with on call consultant at home.
  • Undertake safeguarding duties covering medicals as requested by social care.
Requirements
  • Broad general Paediatric & neonatal training and community paediatric experience.
  • Some specialist training or experience in respiratory paediatrics.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with children, families and professionals involved in the care of the patients.
  • Experience of teaching both undergraduates and post graduates.
  • A nominated mentor and support.
  • An opportunity within the job plan to develop own interest areas commensurate with the other members of the general paediatric team.
