**Job Title:** Young People's Welfare and Support Officer

**Location:** Bristol, UK

**Estimated Salary Range:** £28,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Young People's Welfare and Support Officer in our residential adolescent care service in Bristol. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting young people with complex needs, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality care and support.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of child care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards. They will also have experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents, and families, and be able to relate to young people with empathy and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for them.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work on shift and in conjunction with the Home Manager to ensure that the Home runs efficiently and effectively to a high standard and young people are safeguarded at all times.
  • To support the management team in the development and delivery of the objectives identified in the young person's Plans.
  • To promote effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with all staff, the local community, local authorities, other professional agencies, and significant others who are part of a young person's life.

Requirements:

  • Good overall standard of education.
  • Working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Hold a QCF Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards one.
  • A minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents, and families.
  • Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
