About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Specialist Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Academics Ltd. As an Aspiring Counsellor/Psychologist, you will work closely with our experienced professionals to support children aged 3-11 years old with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with children with SEN/SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and ADD, in a classroom and one-to-one setting
- Support students with profound, multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), requiring assistance with feeding, manual handling, personal care, and specialist medical care
- Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field (2:1 or higher)
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a SEN/SEND setting
- Basic understanding of SEN and child development principles
- Compassionate and confident personality, with excellent communication skills
- Enhanced Paid DBS certificate (or ability to obtain)
