Job Overview

A Wilderness Way is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and creating a nurturing environment for our children.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to our children, helping them to develop essential life skills and build confidence.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy living environment, promoting positive relationships and a sense of community among our children and staff.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in residential childcare.
  • Collaborate with our education and outdoor teams to provide a holistic and engaging experience for our children.

Key Qualities:

  • Experience working with children in a residential or care setting, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and external partners.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including sleep-ins and condensed shifts, to meet the needs of our children and team.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, or already hold a relevant qualification.
