About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Matron to join our team in Secure Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership, promoting the safe delivery of high-quality care and ensuring compliance with key performance indicators and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to ward managers and staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Work closely with ward managers to identify staffing needs and ensure effective resource management.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and experience.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe and person-centered environment, and promote best practice in adult safeguarding.
  • Provide support and guidance to ward managers in managing staff sickness and disciplinary processes.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and develop action plans to address serious incidents and complaints.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and participate in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards within clinical teams.
Requirements
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Proof of postgraduate development.
  • Previous experience of managing a team.
  • Desirable: experience at band 7 or above in mental health settings, experience in forensic mental health, knowledge of the Mental Health Act, and experience of working with carers and families.
