Matron Role Overview

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced and skilled Matrons to join our team in the Department of Surgery. As a Matron, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and leading by example in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care
  • Ensure patients receive high-quality care, including effective nursing care and positive patient experience
  • Empower nurses to take on a wider range of clinical activities and responsibilities
  • Improve hospital cleanliness and ensure patients' nutritional needs are met
  • Make sure patients are treated with respect and dignity, and resolve problems for patients and their relatives
  • Prevent hospital-acquired infections and improve wards for patients
