Matron Role Overview

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced and skilled Matrons to join our team in Surgery. As a Matron, you will play a crucial role in leading by example, ensuring patients receive high-quality care, and empowering nurses to take on a wider range of clinical activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Ensure staffing is appropriate to patient need and that nurses are empowered to take on new challenges.
  • Improve hospital cleanliness and ensure patients' nutritional needs are met.
  • Make sure patients are treated with respect and dignity, and resolve problems for patients and their relatives.
  • Prevent hospital-acquired infections and improve wards for patients.
