Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Oncology Pharmacist to join our Central Pharmacy Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in updating protocols and regimen builds within our SACT electronic prescribing system.

The system covers 11 hospitals across the Nuffield Health organisation and is accessed by a wide range of users including consultants, pharmacy teams, oncology nurses and admin teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and champion patient safety in own area of practice, seeking out potential issues and encouraging staff to call out and report safety concerns.
  • Lead and promote governance activity, championing clinical effectiveness and ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health's Quality governance framework and national standards.
  • Update and develop SACT prescribing protocols.
  • Update SACT Regimen builds within the system.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Lead for Oncology Pharmacy, clinicians and the oncology teams at site to ensure excellence in SACT prescribing practice.
  • Be an integral member of the S-PAG (SACT Prescribing Advisory Group) within Nuffield Health.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality clinical care, ensuring that all patients, families, friends and representatives are treated with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion.

Requirements

  • A Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Evidence of stretching continued professional development.
  • Significant post-registration experience as a Pharmacist in an Oncology acute setting.
  • Leadership/management experience.
  • Competency in clinical skills related to role.
