About the Role

The Dorset Council team is a busy frontline service seeking to assist households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. As a Home-based Caseworker, you will have the support of various teams to deliver excellent customer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing duties owed under the Housing Act 1996
  • Providing advice on tenants' rights and occupation
  • Eligibility assessments for benefits and assistance with claims
  • Managing rent or mortgage arrears and debt
  • Supporting individuals at risk of violence or abuse
  • Applying for social housing and private rentals
What You Will Be Doing

You will work with diverse cases, developing an understanding of homelessness legislation and other statutory sources to advise applicants effectively. This role involves assessing customers' needs, devising Personal Housing Plans, and working collaboratively with clients to resolve situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Travel: Significant travel is required as part of this role
