About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tree Officer to lead our team in managing Dorset's trees and woodlands. As a key member of our Arboriculture Team, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of professionals in delivering exceptional services to our stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in development management, with a strong focus on people management skills. You will be expected to develop and implement consistent service standards across the team, navigate and build relationships with various stakeholders, and drive excellence through organisational skills and knowledge of policies and processes.

As a senior leader, you will play a crucial role in preserving the unique arboreal landscape that defines our region. Your specialist knowledge and experience will be invaluable in promoting suitable development within Dorset, while ensuring that our natural environment is protected and enhanced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement consistent service standards across the team.
  • Navigate and build relationships with stakeholders, including the general public, council colleagues, councillors, and professionals in the private sector.

  • Prioritise the protection and preservation of Dorset's trees and woodlands.
