About the Role
This is a competitive salary position: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective inspection systems and services to allocated installations and/or sites, ensuring that plant and equipment is certified in accordance with Oceaneering and client codes of practice, strategies, and legislation, while providing feedback of results to client Asset Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure regulatory and client standard compliance.
- Support the Line Manager in managing Oceaneering contracts, providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management.
- Assist with implementing an Integrity Risk Management Process aligned to the client Risk Management Process.
- Evaluate all work against relevant client engineering and safety standards and practices, reviewing any revisions and feedback from the client Integrity Focal Point.
- Provide technical leadership and authority in designated inspection disciplines, delegating work as necessary to junior engineers within their technical capabilities, reviewing and checking junior engineer output.
- Be responsible for producing and managing asset Annual Inspection Plans and client planning process compliance for corrosion monitoring activities.
- Contribute inspection/integrity input to asset Turnaround (TAR) programs.
- Determine suitability and technical content of Written Schemes for integrity management of pressure systems (e.g., pressure vessels, pipework).
- Apply non-invasive techniques and specialist technologies to limit intrusive inspections, maximizing plant availability.
- Evaluate compilation of work packs in liaison with Technical Authorities (TAs), adhering to Oceaneering and client procedures and planning criteria.
- Be accountable for timely execution of defined inspection plans, coordinating with planners, maintenance, and site teams as needed.
- Endorse inspection reports to ensure they comply with relevant client STPs and Oceaneering procedures, initiating remedial action for non-compliance.
- Lead asset integrity for inspection and implement the anomaly process, incorporating recommendations from inspection anomalies and failures.
- Attend Asset Integrity meetings and technical practice documentation reviews as required, maintaining contact with asset teams and third parties to ensure an effective inspection and integrity service.
- Support verification activities related to applicable performance standards.
- Promote suitable risk-based fabric maintenance plans.
- Mentor and guide Oceaneering support personnel for contract execution, interfacing with Structural, Pipeline, and Pressure Systems Engineers.
- Maintain a running log of current inspection jobs' status.
- Participate in monthly Corrosion Management meetings.
- Update Written Scheme of Examination based on inspection findings.
- Maintain and update WIN files with inspection results.
- Assist clients in preparing Risk-Based Assessments for equipment and piping.
- Review PSV test certificates against P&IDs for correctness, determining inspection frequencies based on test results.
- Advise clients on best-practice inspection methods and strategies.
- Notify clients promptly of anomalies or equipment considered unsafe.
- Raise Repair Orders/Corrective MMS Work Orders when necessary.
- Carry out Repair Order close-out inspections when needed.
- Collate NDT results and forward them to Client Integrity Team for sign-off in Maximo.
- Liaise with external Oceaneering resources for specialist NDT and Engineering services.
- Direct and oversee visiting specialist NDT teams.
- Coordinate workload for internal and external Oceaneering personnel.
- Mentor trainee inspection personnel.
- Organize inductions for external personnel.
- Liaise with Client Integrity Team to ensure optimal NDT resourcing is available as needed.
- Manage CTRs in consultation with the Integrity Team Leader.
- Evaluate if Inspection Management achieves, or exceeds, contract requirements.
- Attend LM's or client safety meetings.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Lead Oceaneering Teams in Safety and Environmental Performance.
- Conduct Task-based Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments.
- Deliver briefings/Tool Box Talks to visiting Inspection/NDT Personnel for specific jobs.
- Raise Safety Observation cards (POST Cards).
- Perform assigned tasks with due diligence regarding Integrated Management Systems.
- Eliminate waste and suggest environmentally friendly substances and practices for continuous improvement.
