Sanctuary Personnel, a dedicated and innovative recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Care Specialist Lead to join their team in Northamptonshire on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Duty and Assessment Team.

Salary: Up to £44,911 per annum.

Job Description:

  • Support senior colleagues with prioritisation, allocation, planning, and review of work in accordance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to effective budget management, ensuring values for public money and the maximisation of service efficiencies.
  • Participate in service monitoring and evaluation, undertaking needs analysis, reviewing availability of resources, and developing service practice, policies, and strategies to maintain high-quality services.
  • Provide supervision, direction, and coordination of workloads, support, and guidance, appraisal, and professional development, as well as supporting social work students on first and final placements, and students from other professional disciplines.
  • Undertake clear and detailed service user, carer assessments and interventions in accordance with relevant statutory requirements, minimising risks, with consideration for service user needs and available options.
  • Manage high complex cases, including their planning and review, promoting independence and early intervention, as well as the personalisation agenda and self-directed support to minimise risks and improve quality of life for service users and their carers, ensuring targets are met within agreed timescales.
  • Work with individuals, families, carers, and communities to help them make informed decisions, enabling them to clarify their needs, construct value for money care packages, and commission a range of appropriate services, as well as responding to their feedback regarding service provision.
  • Ensure that statutory responsibilities are met and fulfilled by the team, ensuring that quality practice standards are achieved in delivering high-quality services, promoting the use of evidence and theory to support practice in complex and changing circumstances.
  • Undertake preventative work and risk assessments utilising community resources and services such as reablement and telehealthcare.
  • Provide professional advice, guidance, and information to a range of internal and external stakeholders as required, giving evidence in court and working with multi-disciplinary teams in relation to complex cases.
  • Manage complex transitions cases and chair multi-disciplinary team meetings as appropriate to specialised field/local structures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice, policy, and procedure in relation to vulnerable people, as well as keeping abreast of wider service developments to enhance the service accordingly to satisfy internal and external demands.

Requirements:

  • CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Management qualification at least at Level 4.
  • At least 1 year's experience of supervising professional staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job's responsibilities.
