About the Role

Dornan Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead our team on a large-scale Data Centre project in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in managing and supervising personnel on site.
  • Lead by example, setting and enforcing high standards of safety and quality of work.
  • Assume leadership on site, ensuring adherence to the site safety plan and rules.
  • Ensure employees have the necessary training and expertise to perform their work safely and professionally.
  • Manage labour resources on site, planning and tracking progress against schedule.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, addressing performance issues and maintaining working relationships.
  • Oversee performance management of supervision and other personnel, reporting incidents and taking appropriate action.
  • Verify materials meet project specifications before installation.
  • Implement the project quality plan, ensuring timely closure of snag lists.
  • Participate in project handover to the client, supporting close-out of project items with the Project Manager.
Requirements
  • Trade or degree qualification in electrical or electrical discipline.
  • Proven track record in electrical contracting, with at least 5 years in a construction management position.
  • Previous experience in Data Centre construction projects.
  • Excellent people management skills, with ability to motivate teams and manage subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of design and construction processes.
