Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Capital Construction & Maintenance Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on hotel associated plant and equipment.
  • Keep the technical library updated at all times with regard to PPM and emergency breakdowns.
  • Co-ordinate with external contractors on PPM scheduled works and ensure all equipment is compliant
  • Ensure air-conditioning is working to satisfy client needs.
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Assist when required with any project work within the department.
  • Be responsible for routine maintenance on all plant at the hotel site
  • Ensure the smooth running of guest facilities.
  • React to plant breakdowns in and out of hours if required.
  • Produce reports when and if required.
  • Obtain monthly meter readings
  • Carry out daily maintenance checks on plant rooms
  • Carry out monthly check lists on Fire Safety
  • Give full co-operation to any clients and colleagues requiring assistance.
  • Comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety.
  • Manage the hotel BMS system
  • Carry out reactive repairs to hotel members as reported
  • Good record keeping and organisational skills
Requirements
  • Basic plumbing skills (fit a toilet, plumb a sink, repair leaks)
  • Basic electrical skills (change light fittings etc)
  • Painting & decorating to a high standard
  • General carpentry skills (hang a door, fit locks, build stud walls)
  • Proficient in English for effective communication
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Leadership skills for supervising maintenance tasks
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Experience within a Maintenance department ideally from within a hotel environment
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Be well organised and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Able to work productively in an ever changing environment
  • Ability to organise your own workload and work on your own initiative
