About the Role

Achieving for Children is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our team. As a peripatetic role, you will work with schools, early years settings, colleges, and families to build their capacity to meet the needs of learners who have a hearing loss.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized teaching and support to students with a hearing loss at home, in schools, and colleges across Berkshire.
  • Promote inclusion by facilitating the integration of students with a hearing loss into mainstream educational settings through early intervention, technology solutions, and staff development.
  • Ensure individualized support for children with hearing loss, allowing them access to the National Curriculum in compliance with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (SENCO) and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
  • Collaborate with schools, colleges, and settings to enhance their capacity for inclusivity, providing training, advice, and teaching strategies.
