Specialist Teacher of the Deaf

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teacher of the Deaf to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Specialist Teacher of the Deaf, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized teaching and support to students with hearing loss across Berkshire.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to children with hearing loss, ensuring they have access to the National Curriculum in compliance with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (SEN COP) and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
- Collaborate with schools, colleges, and settings to enhance their capacity for inclusivity, providing training, advice, and teaching strategies.
- Deliver training and support to staff on best practices for working with students with hearing loss.
- Manage and maintain specialist equipment, such as radio aids, to support students with hearing loss.
- Qualified Teacher of the Deaf with a strong background in deaf education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a variety of settings, including schools, colleges, and community centers.
