Senior Therapy Instructor

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, a dynamic and forward-thinking service that provides therapy, care, and support to patients in their own homes. Our team is dedicated to helping people stay as well as possible in their own community, and we are looking for a Senior Therapy Instructor to join our Community Therapy Team.
Main DutiesAs a Senior Therapy Instructor, you will work independently in the community, usually within the patient's own home, delivering therapy interventions to patients under the supervision of senior staff. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. Your role will involve delivering physiotherapy and occupational therapy interventions, and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives.

Person Specification- Essential qualifications: GCSE English and maths or equivalent, NVQ or equivalent level of knowledge
- Desirable qualifications: ECDL
- Essential experience: previous experience working with client groups, previous experience working within therapy, previous experience working within an NHS trust or healthcare setting
- Desirable skills: good written and verbal communication skills, basic IT skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to cope with a busy workload, ability to use initiative, sensory skills (manual dexterity), ability to plan and manage own time effectively, ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail, ability to act as a role model, ability to make choices for patient care and in some cases determine the best course of action, ability to persuade/motivate/ explain/empathise with those with communication/understanding barriers
- Essential knowledge: knowledge of how disability/impairment affects function, ability to develop relevant knowledge, knowledge of data protection/confidentiality/health and safety, knowledge of how to respond to queries, knowledge of how to respond to unexpected events
- Essential requirements: car owner/driver subject to conditions of the DDA, ability to work flexible hours, reliable work record, CRB check
