We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team in ensuring the highest level of compliance with food safety and health standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular audits, maintaining documentation, and providing support to the management team.

The role involves:

  • Conducting regular checks on internal HACCP and food safety documentation to ensure it meets company standards and providing feedback to departmental managers or the Compliance Manager.
  • Updating and maintaining unit Compliance Activity Planners and supplying relevant information for month-end reports.
  • Maintaining key Compliance information such as Legionella files and Fire Log Book.
  • Supporting the Compliance Manager in collating documentation for customer complaints/comments.
  • Assessing the company's HACCP against new products to ensure controls are adequate at a local level.
  • Reviewing H&S documentation including supplier reports, risk assessments, and COSHH.
  • Completing and assessing Accident Investigation reports.
  • Assisting the unit management team in Quality Control by conducting spot checks on finished products to confirm adherence to specification.
  • Conducting internal Food Safety and Health and Safety audits, providing feedback, and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Verifying food checks to confirm adherence to Allergen/FIR regulations and Halal Compliance.

This is not an exhaustive list, and accountabilities may vary depending on locality or role complexity. The successful candidate will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, good knowledge of Microsoft Office, organisational skills, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Food Safety Level 3 or above and experience in a similar role within the food industry. Evidence of behaviours aligned to company values will be essential. The salary range for this position is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum.
