Theatre Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Team Leader to join our Perioperative Care team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day resources, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining a supportive learning environment for the team.
The post is based on the Leigh site, with cross-site working at Wigan required as part of the role. The successful candidate will have extensive perioperative experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Main Responsibilities:- Assist in the management of day-to-day resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Maintain a supportive learning environment for the team, enabling them to meet the evolving needs of the service.
- Assist in budgetary and stock control to ensure the provision of a high-quality and cost-effective service.
- Provide a high standard of patient care and skilled expert assistance in all specialties and areas as required.
- Act as an ambassador for the department in professional settings.
- Be accountable for the standards of practice within the theatre team, promoting a professional patient-centred approach to care.
- Registered Nurse/ODP with current NMC/HCPC registration.
- Academically accredited post-registration theatre scrub/anaesthetic/PACU qualification, as appropriate to role.
- RCN Leadership or equivalent.
- Mentorship/Teaching Qualification.
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
- Developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of leadership skills and experience.
- Ability to plan and prioritise own and other's workload.
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrate ability as a professional role model.
- Highly developed clinical skills as appropriate to role.
- Standard keyboard skills and use of health care IT packages such as ORMIS, HIS, etc.
- Ability to participate in research and audit.
- Flexible to meet service demand.
- Ability to support colleagues in other perioperative disciplines within own level of competence.
- Speak English to an appropriate standard.
