As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in the management of day-to-day resources, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and supporting the multi-disciplinary team in their roles.

The successful candidate will have extensive perioperative experience, with a strong background in leadership and management. You will be responsible for maintaining a supportive learning environment, assisting with budgetary and stock control, and promoting a professional patient-centred approach to care.

This is a 28.50 hour per week vacancy, working Monday to Friday. If you are a motivated and experienced healthcare professional looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain a supportive learning environment, enabling the team to meet the evolving needs of the service.
  • Assist with budgetary and stock control to ensure the provision of a high-quality and cost-effective service.
  • Provide a high standard of patient care and skilled expert assistance in all specialties and areas as required.
  • Act as an ambassador for the department in professional settings.
  • Be accountable for the standards of practice within the theatre team, promoting a professional patient-centred approach to care.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse/ODP with current NMC/HCPC registration.
  • Academically accredited post-registration theatre scrub/anaesthetic/PACU qualification, as appropriate to role.
  • RCN Leadership or equivalent.
  • Mentorship/Teaching Qualification.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Evidence/Application of leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own and other's workload.
  • Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate ability as a professional role model.
  • Highly developed clinical skills as appropriate to role.
  • Standard keyboard skills and use of health care IT packages such as ORMIS, HIS etc.
  • Ability to participate in research & audit.
Additional Information:
  • Flexible to meet service demand.
  • Ability to support colleagues in other perioperative disciplines within own level of competence e.g., anaesthetic, scrub, and PACU.
  • Speak English to an appropriate standard.
