Job Title: Team Leader

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Community Assessment Unit at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare support workers and ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care.

Main Duties:

  • Assist and work under the direction of Registered Nurses, Chartered Physiotherapists, and State Registered Occupational Therapists
  • Administer and monitor the stock of aids for independence and other departmental equipment
  • Work flexibly when required, which will involve covering a 7-day 24-hour service
  • Participate in the induction and training of new staff

Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular meetings, such as staff meetings and support and development groups
  • Participate in in-service training
  • Respect the individuality, values, cultural, and religious diversity of patients
  • Exercise good time management, punctuality, and consistent and reliable attendance

Requirements:

  • Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent competencies gained through job experience
  • Experience in a relevant healthcare field (NHS or UK)
  • Good basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Life skills gained through work or personal experience
  • Able to teach practical skills
  • Able to work single-handed with groups or individuals
  • Observational skills
  • Good level of personal organisation
  • Able to problem solve
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Good written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Motivational skills
  • Able to recognise and work within own personal limitations
