About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled University Website Editor to join our team at the University of Northampton.

This is a fixed-term role for up to 12 months or upon the return of the post holder, whichever is sooner.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining digital content that meets the agreed institutional tone of voice, policies, and regulations for the university website.

You will need to liaise with content owners and create content for all digital channels produced by the university, including internal sites, microsites, and blogs.

To ensure the effective management of web content, you will work closely with external agencies and the team to optimize search engine rankings and improve the user experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create engaging digital content that meets the agreed standards of plain English and house style.
  • Maintain the web content using Microsoft SharePoint and WordPress.
  • Liaise with content owners to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Create content for all digital channels, including internal sites, microsites, and blogs.
  • Work with external agencies to optimize search engine rankings and improve the user experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge and expertise in digital web content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and WordPress.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.

Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum depending on experience.
