Northampton General Hospital is looking for an individual who is as passionate about reducing resource use, promoting reuse and driving down waste as the rest of the NGH Team.

We have created a new entry level position dedicated to this work. As part of the Sustainability Team you will support in the delivery of the Trust's Green Plan; finding opportunities to promote reuse either internally or externally, managing our reuse platform and creating internal and external networks.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about sustainability with good IT skills as there will be a level of administration support required too.

**The main aspects of the job include but are not limited to**:
Managing and promoting the reuse platform

Leading reuse campaigns and awareness raising

Provide admin support to the Sustainable Development Comittee

Help co-ordinate and deliver the Green Plan

Help collate reports

Take notes and manage actions from Sustainability Groups

Represent the Trust on local and national forums where requested

Deliver waste related training

Create local communications in partnership with the Trust Communications team and key suppliers

- Manage the Trust’s reuse platform, including collating of data, advertising of the platform and liaising with Procurement to ensure reuse of items is considered as a first option.
- Collaborate with the Waste and Recycling Manager to lead the reuse campaign
- Support waste and recycling operations
- Work with the Waste Supervisor to arrange collection of goods for repair or recycling and to redistribute items for reuse
- Provide support and help co-ordinate the Trust’s Sustainable Development Committee, the Waste Group and departmental sustainability groups.
- Implement reuse projects as identified, collate relevant data, including financial and environmental savings
- Review condemned items for options for repair and reuse, and arrange as appropriate
- Deliver sustainability training to internal groups
- Co-ordinate and report on the Trust’s Green Plan, following up actions from internal meetings
- Arrange resource use awareness days with suppliers and other departments
- Co-ordinate actions relating to NHS England Requirements for Sustainability
- Strengthen and build partnerships with societies, community groups and key contacts within the NHS and Northamptonshire.
- Support staff sustainability initiatives
- Support new subgroups formed by the Departments
- Help manage Sustainability Team communications, utilising social media, webpages and blog(s)
- Facilitate the completion of mandatory sustainability reporting
- Collate information and data for reports as and when required by other members of the Sustainability Team
- Support delivery of the Green Plan. This will liaising with project owners and updating key databases and spreadsheets.
- Work with contractor manage the collection, analysis and dissemination of data to monitor outcomes of initiatives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate a group of Green Champions
- Support the Head of Sustainability to deliver engaging internal and external communications on sustainability, including the internal newsletter, corporate website, case studies and the Annual Report.
- Assist with development and delivery of sustainability training within the Trust.
- Work with the Communications Team on regular awareness raising campaigns across the Trust
- Carry out administrative duties for the Sustainability Team
- Collate the sustainability requirements of the Trust’s mandato
