Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining public health and safety by enforcing environmental laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Environmental Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for investigating environmental violations, issuing warnings and fines, and educating the public about environmental responsibilities. The role involves working closely with local authorities, businesses, and residents to promote compliance and reduce environmental crimes.

Key Tasks:

Environmental Law Enforcement

  • Enforce environmental regulations and local by-laws relating to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other environmental concerns.
  • Patroldesignated areas to detect violations and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
  • Investigate reports of environmental offenses from the public and respond promptly to complaints.
  • Issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) and citations to individuals or businesses for non-compliance with environmental laws.
  • Prepare and serve legal documents, including warning notices and fines, in accordance with local laws.

Court Proceedings and Legal Support

  • Attend court proceedings and present evidence as required to support legal action against environmental offenders.
