Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to join our Community Midwifery team as a Deputy Team Manager. This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the co-ordination of our service.

Main Duties

As a Deputy Team Manager, you will work closely with our Team Manager to ensure the safe and effective delivery of our services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing community midwifery practice to improve health outcomes for mothers and babies
  • Ensuring all women have a satisfactory experience of our services
  • Evaluating patient processes and redesigning pathways of care as necessary
  • Supporting the Team Manager in managing rosters and staff cover
  • Performing staff appraisals and providing feedback
  • Facilitating regular team meetings and contributing to service development and strategy
  • Working in partnership with other agencies to provide effective parent education programmes

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered and practicing midwifery qualification
  • Experience in dealing with safeguarding issues and working with vulnerable families
  • Knowledge and experience of different IT systems, including Systm1 and Medway
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team
  • Flexibility to work across a range of locations and services
