Job Description

As a Clinical Facilitator Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner, you will work directly alongside staff to facilitate their development and improve the quality of the learning environment. You will provide support, supervision, educational, and professional development opportunities for all staff within the practice setting.

You will act as a positive, professional role model in promoting clinical excellence and offer expert, professional development advice to ensure practice is patient-centered and evidence-based.

The Surgery Women's & Oncology Theatres' Education team work alongside staff and students in the clinical area to develop their practice and support Cross Divisional Theatre courses.

You will be involved in informal and formal teaching, including skills and orientation of new staff.

About the Role
  • Use coaching/mentoring-style techniques to support practitioners in clinical areas and facilitate the implementation of personal development plans.
  • Act as a role model and clinical expert to colleagues by guiding practice, assessing competence, and supporting the implementation of policies to enhance learning.
  • Develop and maintain an effective and creative learning environment for all individuals seeking knowledge and experience in perioperative practice.
  • Support department leaders to ensure a robust mentorship system is in place.
Person Specification
  • RN - 1st level Registration/ ODP Level 3 NVQ/Dip HE ODP ODA 752
  • Computer literacy
  • Accredited Teaching Certificate or equivalent (mentorship) /Practice Assessor
  • Proven, extensive (18 months minimum) post-registration experience of working in the perioperative environment in the relevant specialty.
  • Flexibility to facilitate cross-divisional teaching at any of the four Hospitals of the OUH.
  • Teaching qualification.
