About the Role

LTF Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in Haringey. As a dedicated professional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism, fostering their growth, and contributing to a dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a specialist SEN Teacher and another experienced SEN TA to provide high-quality support to students with significant delays in their academic and social abilities.
  • Utilize PECS and Makaton communication tools to enhance students' communication development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote emotional intelligence, concentration, and multitasking skills in students.
  • Provide personal care (feeding and changing) for students after receiving proper training.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of experience working with pupils who have Severe Learning Difficulties or are on the autistic spectrum.
  • An understanding of ASD knowledge and familiarity with PECS and Makaton communication tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Good emotional intelligence, tone of voice, and body language.
  • Ability to multitask and bring energy and enthusiasm to the role.
