Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Policy Adviser. This pivotal role will address a significant gap in the protection and welfare of animals used in entertainment and media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive forward critical initiatives to ensure the welfare needs of animals are prioritised and protected, reflecting the values and expectations of society.
  • Develop and implement effective policies and strategies to address the welfare of animals in entertainment and media.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with the RSPCA's mission and goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and provide expert advice to inform policy decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of reports, briefs, and other materials to support policy initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation, particularly in the area of animal welfare.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering results.
  • Strong knowledge of the entertainment and media industries, and the welfare challenges faced by animals in these sectors.
