Job Summary

Cawood Scientific is seeking a skilled Environmental Technician to join our Field Services Team in Southeast London. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine environmental monitoring across our three service areas of Water, Construction, and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine environmental monitoring and sampling in accordance with company protocols and client specifications.
  • Maintain and calibrate environmental control systems and client infrastructure.
  • Provide a professional level of service to clients, including site visits and communication.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to build trust and establish long-term relationships.
  • Respect company equipment and vehicles, ensuring routine maintenance and calibrations are completed as required.
  • Work collaboratively with regional teams to maintain morale and offer assistance when needed.
  • Report any deviations or non-conformances to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage time efficiently and review schedules to improve workflow.
  • Manage data accurately and report it to Data Analysts in a timely and correct format.
  • Ensure safety is paramount in all field work and report any incidents or near misses.
  • Liaise with laboratories and couriers to ensure compliance with sampling procedures.
  • Assist with on-site training of new employees and provide support during the onboarding process.

Requirements:

  • IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience working outdoors and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when working remotely.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, travel, and overnight stays.
