Commercial Banking Operations Director

Chamberlain Career Management is seeking a highly skilled Commercial / Operations Director to join our team.
About the RoleWe are looking for a seasoned professional to lead and manage the Lending Operations team, providing vision and strategy for the ongoing development of commercial lending and technical operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing continuous process improvement activity, to increase the effectiveness and reliability of both the team and the wider commercial banking business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Lending Operations team to perform lending operations from the point at which credit approval is obtained through to pay-out, including the ongoing administration of all business lending.
- Manage continuous process improvement activity to increase the effectiveness and reliability of both the team and the wider commercial banking business.
- Contribute to departmental strategy activity, ensuring co-worker development and team processes align with strategy implementation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of working in a loan/credit administration function of a reputable bank/financial institution and specific experience with bespoke lending transactions.
- Knowledge of credit risk principles and practices.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of the broader context within which the Lending Operations team operates.
- Previous experience of managing a team, preferably in a technical lending environment.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate confidently and clearly with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- An eye for accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to deal positively and calmly with complex issues.
- A friendly persona and 'can do' attitude combined with an affinity to the Banks values.
