Key Manufacturing Technologist

Oxford Instruments, a leading high-tech company, is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technologist / Engineer with a physics background. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will contribute significantly to the production and assembly of cutting-edge technology solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting as an Operations-based technological specialist, developing effective relationships with Product Development, Marketing, Operations, and Sales teams.
- Owning and developing performance measures for specialist product components and regularly feeding back to suppliers.
- Contributing to the introduction, development, and testing of new and existing products for SEM and TEM applications.
- Providing first and second-tier production line support to ensure a quality product is delivered to schedule.
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of manufacturing shop floor documentation for new and existing processes, aligning with company standards.
- Completing test and process verification to ensure current processes and products meet company standards.
- Monitoring and developing solutions to prevent field and internal failures caused by internal and external processing methods.
- Ensuring New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Changes are implemented effectively and products and processes are productionised and repeatable.
- Innovating and offering potential manufacturing/supply methods to be more suited to an operational excellence focused environment while maintaining product standards.
We are looking for someone with a Science or Engineering degree involving areas such as Electron Microscopes, Electron Microanalysis, Materials Analysis, Metallurgy, Vacuum Technology, Semi-Conductors, or Physics. Relevant skills and experience include knowledge of Mechanical Assemblies, X-ray detection, vacuum systems, or Electron Microscopy, as well as understanding and use of Statistical methods to make evidence-based decisions.
