We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our East Specialist Health Community Learning Disability Team. As a specialist physiotherapist, you will work with adults with complex physical health needs and learning disabilities, providing specialist physiotherapy services that promote independence and community inclusion.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist physiotherapy services to adults with learning disabilities, including assessment, treatment, and training of family and carers.
- Work closely with other multidisciplinary team members, carers, and services to promote independence and community inclusion.
- Develop and implement specialist physiotherapy programmes that meet the needs of individuals with complex physical health needs and learning disabilities.
- Contribute to the planning, organisation, and maintenance of professional networks and interest groups to maintain and develop professional practice.
- Post-qualification experience in physiotherapy, preferably in a community learning disability setting.
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and complex physical health needs.
- Clear understanding of the role of physiotherapy within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of theories and methods of practice specific to people with learning disabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously, seeking guidance as necessary.
