About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our East Specialist Health Community Learning Disability Team. As a specialist physiotherapist, you will work with adults with complex physical health needs and learning disabilities, providing expert care and support to enable them to live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist physiotherapy services to adults with learning disabilities, including assessment, treatment, and training for family and carers.
  • Work closely with other multidisciplinary team members, carers, and services to promote community inclusion and independence.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating reasonable adjustments, hydrotherapy, postural management, and specialist equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of the team and service, ensuring safe practice and adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Supervise students and provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Requirements
  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy and valid State registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and complex physical health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and carers.
  • Knowledge of government policy and guidelines related to services for people with learning disabilities.
