Commodity Trader Role

We are seeking a skilled Commodity Trader to join our team at Commerzbank AG in London. As a key member of our Commodity trading desk, you will be responsible for structuring, pricing, trading, and managing positions on Commodity derivatives contracts.

Your primary objective will be to exploit and develop the bank's core client franchise in a risk-controlled, capital-efficient, and cost-effective manner. You will work closely with the Head of Commodity trading to implement optimal trading strategies and build strong relationships with Trading counterparties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market making, risk management, and senior staff updates on current risk positions.
  • Implementation of trading strategies with the Head of Commodity trading.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Trading counterparties.
  • Monitoring market levels, competitor pricing, and ensuring accuracy of Risk and Profit & Loss figures.
  • Keeping trading books within required risk limits.
  • Coordination with Support units for new trading instruments.
  • Promotion of the Commodity franchise with Sales teams.
  • Assistance in automation and digitization of the Commodity business.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Commodity derivatives trading.
  • Solid quantitative understanding of pricing and risk management models.
  • Established relationships with key commodity market counterparties.
  • Strong commercial mindset and high communication skills.
