Job Title:

Physical Soft Commodity Operations & Logistics Operator (North London)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations and Logistics professional to join our client's trading team in North London. As a Physical Soft Commodity Operations & Logistics Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the trading team across edible nuts and soft commodity operations, with a focus on logistics and operations management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Submit trading slips and shipping documentation into the internal trade capture system
  2. Work with traders on ensuring shipping instructions are set, sent, and delivered to relevant shipping and logistics providers
  3. Forward shipping and booking confirmations to clients where required, and update them on shipment progress where queries or delays arise
  4. Manage documentation across the logistics and operations remit of the soft commodity trading business, ensuring all is submitted into the system and updated where required
  5. Arrange and manage spot release/delivery of warehouse-stored goods (soft commodities, nuts, seeds, ingredients, etc.)
  6. Liaise and communicate documentation to banks for outward collections and ensure invoicing documentation is complete and timely for all shipments and deliveries
Requirements:
  • ~2+ years of experience in a commodity trading operations, physical trade support, or commodity logistics role
  • ~Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • ~A good understanding of ERP/Logistics software systems
  • ~A down-to-earth and communicative persona
  • ~The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ~A thorough understanding of containerised commodity/ingredient/food industry product shipping and logistics processes and procedures
